Two of my favorite things! Or How I Plan to Survive the Summer

The weather is  so nice this weekend, it has me thinking of Summer. I cannot wait! Time  with the kids, hot  sunny days.  Those two things are something to be enjoyed.

Let's be honest though.  Sometimes kids, sometimes the heat, well, they get on your nerves.

How will I cope ? Dance tunes  and hydration!

BEAT THE HEAT WITH HYDRATION

I am already drinking way more water ever since I received a Forever Fused infuser water bottle.

My love affair with infused water started when I held a group at the local coffee shop, The Dancing Goat. Haven't checked the place out yet? You should! They have gluten free options, a great space for kids to play, and the aforementioned infused water. Some days it's pineapple and raspberry, Somedays it's lemon and blueberry, really I think it is different every day. But as much as I love it, I could never go there EVERY day. Well, maybe if I was a 9-5er working in some corporate haven downtown, but that is not what I'm aiming for.

So I make my infused water at home most days.  With the Forever Fused Infuser I just shove the fruit of the moment (read: whatever is on sale! ) from my fridge into the center capsule that screws back into the bottom of the bottle.  Then I screw the bottom back on the bottle, fill'r up, and thread the lid on before I head out the door.

The center capsule has holes cut out in cute star designs to let the bits of fruit flavor escape into the water.  I usually mash three fruit a bit first to really expose the flavors.
Everyone asks me about the cup when they see me out with it. At first, though I was grateful I was drinking more water, I did figure I could have just used a regular travel cup and the novelty of this was probably what was contributing to my increased fluid intake. However as I became more creative with my fruit choices I realized the fact that big gobs  of  fruit weren't brushing my lips made a big difference.

I take this Infuser with me to work, so consider a big muddle of raspberries brushing my lips after the fourth refill.  Yuck! But I don't need to worry about the mush factor when all is contained.

TOLERATE THE KIDS WITH DANCE TUNES*

The second part to surviving the (long awaited) summer and having fun with the kids.  Things get tense. We all have competing wants and needs and sometimes we just need to take ourselves a little less seriously and release some giggles. Giant oxytocin hugs and Koo Koo Kangaroo do this for us.

Have you checked out their YouTube channel? These guys are juvenile genius!
